Swine flu: Homoeopathy can give a gentler, painless cure

The new epidemic swine flu is spreading throughout the world and H1N1 has become a dreaded word.

The anti-virus vaccine is in the process of being mass produced. In India it will be available in six months. Experts say the only drug effective against this disease, Tamiflu, works only in the early stages of the disease.

I wonder why homoeopaths the world over are keeping low. This is a golden opportunity to show how effective Homoeopathy can be in the fight against swine flu. Even a layman like me, with no formal education in Homoeopathy, can say that this is an acute disease with no chronic miasms involved. Every homoeopath knows that acute diseases are easy to cure with Homoeopathy. No detailed case-taking is needed.

A Homoeopathic drug with similar symptoms to swine flu symptoms will cure it. The drugs Aconite Napellus and Arsenic Album come to the mind. A few doses in high potencies will do the job.

Another option would be to potentize the H1N1 virus and do the proving. Of course this would not be homoeopathy, it would be isopathy, but the world has no better option. Tamiflu the only anti-viral effective against the H1N1 virus is said to have some unpleasant side-effects. In such a scenario Homoeopathy can be a gentler, painless option.

Founder of Homoeopathy, Samuel Hahnemann had said that in epidemics individualisation is not necessary. One drug is to be decided upon and is to be administered to all the patients. He had cured many people during cholera outbreaks in his time with mother tincture of the drug Camphor.

This is the time for homoeopaths the world over to shed their diffidence and step forward. Indian homoeopaths should take the lead as India is the new 'superpower' in Homoeopathy and the country (along with the government) holds Homoeopathy in high esteem.
