Hemorrhoids are swollen, inflamed veins around the anus or lower rectum. They are either inside the anus or under the skin around the anus. They often result from straining to have a bowel movement. Other factors include pregnancy, aging and chronic constipation or diarrhea.

Hemorrhoids are very common in both men and women. About half of all people have hemorrhoids by age 50. The most common symptom of hemorrhoids inside the anus is bright red blood covering the stool, on toilet paper or in the toilet bowl. Symptoms usually go away within a few days.

Haemorrhoids are very painful. Anyone who has them knows that. Worse still, it is a recurring problem. It gets worse every time. It gets more painful and the painful interval increases. The sufferer has no other way than to go in for surgery to get rid of this unceasing pain and misery.

But surgery is not the correct answer. It has been observed that once the haemorrhoids are operated upon, the patient after some months starts having heart problems. We thus see the disease condition moves from the rectum to the heart. It changes form from piles to heart problems.

One can hardly call this cure. This is suppression of disease.

Similarly herbal treatment for haemorrhoids too just palliates or fails to do even that.

The real cure for piles lies in homeopathy. There are about 150 remedies which are known to have cured piles. How to decide which one is the right remedy fro you?

As usual see the characteristic nature of the haemorrhoids. Are they relieved by warmth application (then Arsenic Album is the remedy) or cold applications (Aloe). Is there a ball-like sensation in the rectum? Then Sepia will cure.

Also see the mental state of the patient and the generals and modalities (both local and general). Look for any peculiar symptoms. That will simplify matters. Or see if over lifting has caused the piles (causation). Then Ignatia is the right remedy.

Though the most common remedies for piles are Sulphur and Nux Vomica. But they will act only if they match the picture of the disease.
