Rupees 5 lakh have been sanctioned for the research centre of the Dhondumama Sathe Homoeopathic Medical College to tackle H1N1 flu menace. The
announcement was made by Shobha Bacchav, Minister of State for Public Health.
Bacchav was the chief guest at a day-long seminar on "swine flu and its containment and treatment through homeopathy", organised on Friday to coincide with the foundation day celebrations of the Maharashtra Technical Education Society, which runs the Dhondumama Sathe Homoeopathic medical college.
Bachchav assured that the government and municipal agencies are doing their best to keep the flu under check. She said there was no reason to get alarmed and that the situation is under control. She invited suggestions and assistance from practitioners of alternative medicines to help control the spread, besides the conventional allopathic treatment.
Present on the occasion were Pradeep Sethiya, principal and Head of the Department of Homeopathic Philosophy, Maneesha V Solanki, vice-principal and head of the department of medicine and therapeutics as well as the director of the PG Department, Kirti Jog, lecturer in preventive and social medicine and K C Shah, head, department of homeopathic materia medica.
