Seborrheic dermatitis is one of common causes of stubborn dandruff and occurs in all age groups. This condition primarily affects the sebaceous glands present in the skin. Some of the symptoms include small reddish-brown eruptions or red, scaly, and itchy rash on the skin along with hair loss. The condition usually affects the face and the scalp, where it causes flaking of the skin. It may be infective or inflammatory in origin and outbreaks may also be triggered by hormonal imbalances, stress, or illnesses.
Following is the case study of a girl Heena (name changed), who was brought to Dr. Batra’s® Clinic by her parents as the last resort. In spite of having tried conventional treatment for many years, her problem persisted. She had thick flaky scales on the scalp, which used to fall on her eyebrows and face.
