City Naib Nazim Nasreen Jalil has asked the relevant authorities to award degrees to candidates completing the homoeopathic course instead of giving them diploma certificates, so that their reputation can be boosted.
“Homoeopathic treatment is cheaper, therefore it is the need of the hour to bolster it.
There should be at least one Homoeopathic Hospital in
every town,” Jalil said on Saturday while addressing the silver jubilee ceremony of the
Homoeopathic Hospital Nazimabad.
Earlier, Jalil and provincial minister Shoaib Bukhari inaugurated the newly-renovated portion of the hospital.
The renovation work was carried out through Bukhari’s uplift funds.
Jalil said that admission to medical colleges was provided on merit, in which the number of successful female candidates was more than males.
She said that though women get medical degrees, all of them, however, do not practice medicine due to social and family issues.
EDO Health Dr A.D Sajnani said that the city government’s health department was striving to provide better health facilities to the citizens.
Homeopathic Hospital Medical Superintendent (MS) Dr Rasheed Wayani said that over 200 patients are treated daily at the hospital’s out-patient department (OPD).
The hospital was established in 1994 with 15 beds but now it had been expanded to 40 beds.
A Japanese x-ray plant had arrived in the hospital, which would soon be installed, he said. A cake was also cut on the occasion to mark the 254th birthday of the founder of homeopathy, Dr Samuel.
